August Monthly Meeting – “Second Cousin Twice Removed” presented by Teresa Devine
August 27 @ 6:30 pm - 8:00 pm
Half first cousin? First cousin once removed? Direct Line? Collateral Lines? Consanguinity? Understanding terms used in genealogy not only implies knowledge of definitions, but also implies we understand how those words fit into our research. Teresa Devine will examine relationship definitions and share examples of how those relationships apply to our family trees.
Teresa Devine began dabbling in family history research more than ten years ago, but didn’t get serious about genealogy until 2011 when her oldest living paternal relative passed away taking her memories of the family with her. Teresa realized that family stories can easily disappear unless someone works to save them. She specializes in southern U.S. research, is a member of the Austin (TX) and Williamson County (TX) genealogical societies, and serves as treasurer of the Lone Star Chapter of the Association of Professional Genealogists.
