| The church was first known as St. Patrick’s Church when it
started services in the fall of 1852, and was located at the northeast
corner of Brazos and Ash (9th) Streets. During the pastorate of Reverend
Nicholas Feltin (1864-1874) the name of the church was changed to
St. Mary’s of the Immaculate Conception. St Mary’s is
presently located at 203 E. 10th St. All spellings were taken from
